ActivMiddleware

ActivMiddleware is a layered suite of shrink-wrapped software components for building large-scale real-time distributed systems and underpins all tiers of ACTIV's data feed products.

ActivMessaging, our ultra-high-performance messaging substrate, can deliver arbitrarily large messages over shared memory, IPv4 or IPv6. Synchronous and asynchronous point-to-point messaging is supported, as well as publish-subscribe.

ActivDatabase, our high-performance real-time database engine, supports multiple index types, multi-column indexes, dynamic metadata and both local and remote clients. The basic data types are natively understood by ActivMessaging for high-performance, low-bandwidth data transfer.

ActivMiddleware provides an extensible, component-based application framework, a set of base services for building large-scale distributed systems and a platform abstraction layer which insulates applications from operating system and platform details.

These ActivMiddleware components offer rapid development, improved deployment flexibility and lower maintenance costs, without sacrificing performance.
