Stephen J. McNeany is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of ACTIV Financial Systems, Inc. and has over 27 years senior management experience in real time market data technology. Prior to ACTIV Steve was the founder and CEO of A-T Financial Information, Inc. from 1987 to 2000. ATFI’s innovative accomplishments include the first real-time market data display terminal using Microsoft Windows, the first real-time local area network client-server architecture, and the first client server market data solution integrating multiple consolidated feeds into a single display terminal application. Steve was Vice President of Software Development for MarketView from 1984 to 1987 and started his career in market data in 1982 as a software engineer for Commodity Communications Corporation where he assumed the role of Manager of Software and System Design that same year. He received degrees in Mathematics from the University of Illinois. In 1968 and 1969 Steve served as an officer in the Army with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam.
Frank W. Piasecki is the President and co-founder of ACTIV Financial Systems, Inc., he has 22 years of senior management experience in the market data industry. Previously to ACTIV Frank spent 11 years at A-T Financial where he spearheaded their institutional sales programs and global customer service group. Piasecki drove a customer-centric, product definition process, positioning A-T as a pioneer in real-time market pricing, data feed and display technology. His previous financial services work includes the formation of SRG, Inc., a VRDO securities content management research firm. He currently serves as a board member of Clearwater Management Company, a privately held asset management company and has recently been recognized as a member of the market data hall of fame by Waters Technology.
Michael Dunne is co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of ACTIV Financial Systems, Inc. He has 5 years of senior management experience and over 15 years' software development experience at ICV Ltd / Primark / Thomson Financial, making major contributions to the design and development of the TOPIC3 and GlobalTOPIC products. At ACTIV, Mike has architected and led the development of the state-of-the-art ACTIV suite of products. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Computer Science from The University of Manchester.
Rob Stavis is a Partner in Bessemer's Larchmont, NY office. He focuses on investments in the financial services sector as well as in emerging software technologies. Since joining BVP, Rob has led the firm’s investments in and sits on the boards of the independent research companies Gerson Lehrman Group and Soleil Securities, CRM software developer Portrait Software (formerly AIT Group, LSE-AIM: PST), financial marketplace Zopa, leads generator Yodle, online creative messaging service Smilebox, online educational website Knewton, and the stock loan focused Broker/Dealer financial services company Quadriserv. He was closely involved in BVP's investment in Motilal Oswal Financial Services, an India-based financial services and brokerage company, which has since gone public on India's Bombay and National Stock Exchanges as MOSL. Prior to joining Bessemer in 2000, Rob was an independent private equity investor. In this capacity, he served on the board of Arbinet (NASDAQ:ARBX), the world's leading electronic market for trading, routing, and settling communications capacity. Rob entered private equity after a 15-year career at Salomon Smith Barney, where he became co-head of global arbitrage trading. He was a member of Salomon's operating and risk management committees, and chaired the recruiting committee, in addition to managing a $100 billion balance sheet.
Rob holds degrees from the Engineering School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Management. He has published articles on derivatives pricing and risk management for financial services companies.
